Lead Project Facilitator - Sound ON

Elevator Arts is recruiting for a motivated & compassionate Lead Project Facilitator to plan and deliver creative workshop sessions for our Sound ON project in partnership with South Essex Homes in Southend-On-Sea.
Sound ON provides regular creative activity that aims to improve mental health & wellbeing plus communication & social skills for children and young people experiencing homelessness. Sound ON is for children aged 6 upwards who are living in South Essex Homes’ temporary accommodation for families.
Sessions will take place at: Chaucer House, Chestnut Grove, Southend On Sea, Essex, SS2 5HG
Sound ON is supported through funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.

Sound ON sessions will take place weekly in term time every Wednesday from 11 September 4pm-5.30pm.

£75 per session (£50 per hour for delivery including planning & preparation)
Plus £16 per hour for additional meeting time.

Essential:
At least two years experience of working in youth arts and experience of leading participatory drama &/or arts projects with children and young people.
Commitment to delivering arts projects that achieve a positive social impact.
Knowledge & experience of implementing Child Protection & Safeguarding policies.
Desirable:
Experience of working on creative projects that support mental health & wellbeing.
Experience of working with children experiencing homelessness and/or multiple barriers to social inclusion.
Experience of working with spoken word, storytelling, physical theatre &/or other visual theatre techniques.
Creative craft skills such as mask or puppet making.

Lead on delivery of a high-quality creative project in line with Sound ON’s aims & objectives.
Implement a young people centred approach to delivery & respond to participants’ individual & collective needs.
Liaise with the Assistant Facilitator to support sessions & supervise where appropriate.
Attend meetings as appropriate with Elevator Arts & project partners.
Engage fully in the evaluation process.
Implement Elevator Arts’ Child Protection & Safeguarding policies

Sound ON is a development of our 2022 & 2023 projects funded by Ragdoll Foundation, SAVS & National Lottery Community Fund. The project aims to improve mental health & wellbeing plus support communication skills for children & young people experiencing homelessness & living in temporary accommodation.
Sound ON is in partnership with South Essex Homes and we will work with up to 15 young people from age 6 upwards years.
The project will make a difference to participants through:
Improving mental health & wellbeing.
Increasing confidence.
Build social skills, self-awareness & self-regulation.
Empower & enable participants to express their identity & build a positive self-image.
Develop communication & spoken language skills.
Combat social isolation.
Develop sense of ownership & belonging for participants to feel part of & able to participate in the wider community.
Widen participants’ experience & develop new skills.
Raise visibility & amplify voices of young people often hidden within our community.
Provide families in temporary accommodation respite by providing free activities for children & opportunities to socialise.
