Arts Award with BLAST

BLAST Youth Theatre members have had a fantastic first half of term back at Welcome To The UK and have been working hard on their Discover Arts Award.

The young people have been learning about different types of art forms and how they feature in everyday life plus the many different artist roles that go into making a piece of theatre.

On our the last session before half term BLAST Youth Theatre were joined by storyteller Hannah Brailsford. The group were treated to magical performance storytelling and then the young people asked Hannah fantastic questions about how she became an artist, how she works and what inspires her!

Discover is the launch-pad for the Arts Award qualifications: Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold. This introductory level is designed for ages 5 and above and open to anyone aged 25 and under. It typically takes 20 guided learning hours, and everyone who completes this introductory award receives a certificate from Trinity College London.

After half term the group will also start work on creating their end of term show to be performed on Wednesday 12th July at Twenty One!
