Room For Improv-ment

Participants on our BLAST @ Southend Adult Community College treated staff and students to some hilarious comedy improv this week.

As part of development of our BLAST programme we have been working with Post-16 SEN learners at Southend Adult Community College. Participants have been taking part in drama activities to improve wellbeing, build confidence & self esteem and develop communication & social skills.

We’ve been extremely impressed by the young people’s growth over the six weeks - from needing encouragement to engage with drama games to being self-assured and confident enough to create their own comedy improvisation show and perform in front of an audience.

One learner even said he would never have dared before to speak let alone perform in front of such a crowd as he did yesterday!
